A View from my Roof

We had a roofing guy come out to see our ailing flat roof before the last big storm. He shoveled a mess of the previous snow off the roof to better examine the damage.

Then we got socked with another foot-plus of snow, and I sweated every time I passed the second-floor doorway.

We spent yesterday digging out the driveway; I spent the better part of the day so far clearing the flat roof. It's as clear now as its going to be.

I have to be honest; there's plenty of work to be done in the house. Housework depresses me, and I'm not in the best frame of mind right now, anyway. I preferred to be up on the roof, in the sunshine, listening to the robins and cardinals in my backyard, working my grief and aggravation into the heavy labor at hand.

And it just felt good to be, literally and figuratively, pushing it off the roof.

I stood in the sunshine for a few minutes, just enjoying the quiet, and the view that I ordinarily don't get to enjoy.

My little one pounded on the glass, beckoning me to fix him lunch.

So I did. But not before spiking the shovel into a drift below.

That felt better than anything I've done all month.

It was a good decision to have your roof checked and repaired the soonest possible. Our roof was also damaged last month, and right after some bad weather too. We called on our well trusted roofer and had our roofs fixed right away. Anyway, just keep on doing your work and I'm sure that you're always appreciated by your family.

How old is your roof? If it’s too old already and has been fixed over and over again, then maybe it’s time that you had it replaced. I’m sure all the repairs or renovations are done by now and I hope that you never overlook taking care of your roof.

Shoveling snow off your roof must have been a great stress reliever. And enjoying the sunshine and the view would even make it more relaxing. Whenever I have a problem or just feel like escaping from the house, I sneak up to my roof that I transformed into a mini garden. =)

It is always a must to have your roofs checked whenever possible because this may save you from a lot of trouble in the future. Winter season is problematic for my husband too because he shoves the snow away from our roof three times a week. It may seem a lot of work, but it is definitely effective as we never experiences clogs. Whenever a problem arises and he cannot properly fix it, we always call professionals to aid us with our roof. Though it costs us money, it also saves us from replacing our entire roof.
